How to herp derp your way into infrastructure
A little insight into my days. I have a day job working in IT. I do a little bit of everything from programming to DBA, to server administration (Windows, and rarely Linux) to rarely cloud administration (Azure). My usual day consists of working my day job. Then after work, (sometimes) I set aside time to work on this project. I call this time “coding sessions” because that is what my time usually consists of. Coding/Programming. However, I do everything under the sun during these sessions.. I probably should call them “Sessions” rather than “Coding Sessions”.
So… in my previous post, I installed Ubuntu on a Hyper-V vm to re tackle the Steam Linux problem and got a kludge of a work around. In the past, I drummed up a Digital Ocean droplet and tackled the problem there. However, there was a cost involved that I wasn’t willing to tackle this time until I got this figured out.
I have spent time since the last post purchasing and configuring 3 digital ocean droplets. (one for database, one for game server, and one for proxy). While everything works via hyper-v, I am still working on the DO droplets.
